Germaine Chin
Hello!
I'm a Product Manager who bridges the gap between cutting-edge AI technology and human-centered design, leveraging my background in Cognitive Science to create AI products that truly understand how people think and work.
Currently serving as Product Manager at Phillip Nova, I oversee trading platform ecosystems for Singapore and Malaysia markets, where I've led initiatives in automated account opening, client portal enhancements, and single sign-on integration. My work involves navigating complex regulatory frameworks.
Journey to Product!
My journey to product management began with a BSc in Cognitive Sciences from UNIMAS, where I developed a deep fascination with how humans process information, make decisions, and learn new concepts. This foundation has proven invaluable in my product management career, as it helps me design interfaces and workflows that align with natural human cognition rather than forcing users to adapt to technology constraints. I understand concepts like cognitive load theory, mental models, and attention mechanisms, which directly inform how I approach AI product design and user experience optimization.

July 12, 2025 | MCP | Productivity | ManusAI
The thing with MCP is such a buzzword but it is such a new (found) discovery for 6 months (as per current date. It is NOT all that new but with tools like Generative AI and with the capabilities of our physical machines, they could take more power to actually churn out valuable data in a significantly (efficient-y) time. Compared in the past anyway.Looking forward to incorporate MCP into my works, or at least tinkle with it!

I have some thoughts over how LLM and CogSci intersect, and how AI PM can leverage using this piece of knowledge to breakthrough. Guess it's my time to start a medium blog.

This is where I attempt to SSS my product — from the chicken... or the egg...
If you get my drift.Basically, being a product manager means putting on a lot of hats, because that’s where you show your strategy and your vision.
Below is where I illustrate my thinking process.Note: All products are different and unique. If it doesn’t work, try something else!
The Aspiring AI Product Manager's Mindset
Curating Vision and Innovation in the Age of AI
A comprehensive framework for leading AI product managers, synthesizing insights from industry pioneers and successful practitioners who have mastered the art of human-AI collaboration.

Key Insights from Leading Practitioners
Counterintuitive AI Impact
AI will most profoundly impact high-level strategic skills (vision, strategy, opportunity identification) rather than routine communication and execution tasks.
The Automation Paradox
90% workflow automation doesn't eliminate human involvement—it shifts focus to higher-value activities like strategic thinking and creative problem-solving.
Ethical Competitive Advantage
Organizations integrating ethical considerations from the beginning will have significant advantages as regulatory frameworks evolve and user awareness increases.
Implementation Roadmap
Phase 1: Foundation (Months 1-3)
Develop AI literacy, implement basic tools, establish ethical frameworks, begin hypothesis-driven experimentation.
Phase 2: Integration (Months 4-6)
Integrate AI into daily workflows, develop cross-functional collaboration, implement learning loops and feedback mechanisms.
Phase 3: Advanced Capabilities (Months 7-12)
Sophisticated human-AI workflows, predictive analytics for strategy, AI-augmented ideation, thought leadership development.
